Ethereum Mainnet Merge clients implement mandatory node updates.
Teku v22.8.1 and Ethereum Mainnet Merge
Teku v22.8.1 is now available and it is a mandatory update that includes a network upgrade and transition configuration merge for the Bellatrix system. All Mainnet users must upgrade by September 6th.
Lighthouse, the Ethereum consensus client, says that all users of the Ethereum mainnet must upgrade to stay connected to the canonical chain.
Additionally, Geth recently released Geth v1.10.22 (Promavess), their first mainnet merge version. Ethereum Merge requires an execution client and a consensus client.
